So the reason I look totally shell shocked in the photo above is because I'm close to the launch of my new podcast, How To Fix The Music Business. It's crazy how long the "to-do" list is for launching a show. I've booked guests and recorded interviews, picked a showname, grabbed the URL and had great artwork done, got a Libsyn hosting account, bought a Heil mic and learned how to use HIndenburg editing software (painful to realize how many times I say "like" and "um" per minute). It's been a pretty steep mountain to climb and I'm about 6 weeks into the process.
So because I didn't have enough to do already, I decided to create my own music for the show. I have plenty of great gear and there's no reason to go buy/license music created by someone else. It took me a week or two of stumbling in Ableton Live (thanks to Sonicbloom tutorials for making the process infinitely less painful) but I put together some original theme and interstitial music that I'm really happy with - for now.
The music was created using Ableton Push 2, which is awesome. Check out the new show trailer below, and thanks for listening! The target date for the show launch is the first week of July.
